Cast your mind back in time to a period where we were more care free as people. We knew and spoke to our neighbours, we developed skills as people, we grew our own vegetables, listed to rock n roll music, put bryll creme in our hair and enjoyed life without the commercial pressures that exist today.

Magical times when the dream of owning a house was a real possibility, the TV was small, domed like a fishbowl, and not like a giant cinema screen, kids scraped their knees, Sunday dinner leftovers were served on Monday, we shopped locally, we bought meat and vegatables that were in season, we moaned less and were not as butt hurt by the very slightest thing, we were grateful to be alive, had a strong work ethic and believed in ourselves, and each other. We were not obsessed by material gains, or spending eleven hundred dollars on a cell phone, or letting the world know everything about us on social media. There was no Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram...we were only controlled by newspapers and the television, we were no concerned about selfies or sending naked pictures on Snapchar, then regretting it. We had a sense of value, we wore our siblings hand me downs, we sewed up holes in our knees, we waited for Dad to get home from work as Mom baked and made us all house proud. We learned trades, worked with our hands, developed skills. We went into work when we didn't feel well, we didn't feel entitled. The emphasis was on family, friendships and values. The world was a simpler place, back then, even though we, like you were always tired of folks eulogising about 'the good old days' and 'when I was a boy'...those days are over and the good folks that lived through these times are sadly beginning to leave us now. Sometimes all we have is memories and photgraphs.

Well, this Wolseley 15/60 harks back to these halcyon days, and it allows you to close your eyes, take a moment and experience the unmistakable aroma of wood, leather and thick carpet, kind of musty like an old library full of interesting books. The large, thin rimmed steering wheel feels good in the fingers, ready to pilot this old dowager down the road, and through the corners, seats creaking reassuringly, as you glance at the wooden dashboard at the Smiths instrument guages, silently praying that she'll get you there...and she did....but you always knew she would. Bakelite aplenty, illuminated instrument stalk and toggle switches that snap into position with a satisfying click. You nose the grey lady into traffic, people nod approvingly, old men whose uncle had one, young children who aren't sure what it is but they know it is regal, stately, even admiring glances from a youth in a Subaru with a body kit, sleeve tattoos, hooped earings, questionable clothing, playing rap music at ear splitting volume whilst chewing gum, open mouthed and simultaneously vaping and attempting to look cool.

The Wolseley, with it's fin like tailights, and stout, purposeful and traditional face drives wonderfully. It's 1.5 liter four starts on the button, let the clutch out, snick into gear, open the quarterlights and ease onto the road as you transport yourself, albeit temporarily back to a time that is rapidly being forgotten.

She comes with lots of new spares, and if you look through the photographs, you can see where she has had brand new floor sections added. She also comes with original workshop manuals and a whole lot of charm. Whoever buys this Wolseley has a duty to keep her trim, garaged and looked after.

The grille and chrome trim just set her slightly apart from her badge engineered siblings, the Austin Cambridge and Morris Oxford. She was manufactured from 1958 through to 1971, with just over 87000 produced. many were destroyed on the banger racing ovals of the UK.The 1.5 Litre B-series produced a shade over 50 BHP, and a single SU Carb was used. The rear seat has a centre armrest, and a Smiths heater was standard, and if you know anything about Smiths heaters, you wouldn't want to rely on one in the cold.

She has a new battery, fresh oil, fuel tank drained, light carb rebuild, adjusted the points, machned the brake drums.
